I have some advice for you. Could you afford to give free shipping instead of charging for it?
On your large-ticket item maybe you could offer 25%, 50% or even 75% off the current shipping cost? You could also offer it for local pickup, too, for a customer that might live nearby and wants to save on all the shipping cost. Or how about ‘Buy It Now or Best Offer’?
Another thing, not on eBay, you might want to think over... A local consignment store. They sell it for you and take 20-60% for their fee.
