A 47-year-old man was admitted to this hospital because
of abdominal pain.

The patient had had intermittent abdominal pain and constipation for 15 years.
Computed tomographic (CT) scans of the abdomen and pelvis 4.5 years before admission,
obtained after the oral and intravenous administration of contrast material,
were interpreted as normal.

revealed foci of cortical irregularity in the
midregion of the left kidney, a peripheral wedgeshaped
lesion with central low density and capsular
enhancement in the midregion of the right
kidney, and an ill-defined wedge-shaped hypodensity
in the lower pole of the right kidney.

ある４７歳の男性は腹痛のため入院することになりました。

この患者は１５年もの間、断続的な腹痛と便秘を抱えていました。入院の４～５年前に腹部と骨盤を撮ったコンピューター断続撮影（ＣＴ）では、撮影の前に造影剤を経口投与と静脈投与されたものが正常であると判断されていました。

造影剤の静脈投与の後に撮られた腹部と骨盤のＣＴでは、左側の腎臓の中腎に皮質が不規則の病巣が、右側の腎臓の中腎に中心部が希薄で嚢状に増大し周辺が楔状になった病変が、加えて右側の腎臓の下極部に不明確な楔形の希薄部が映し出されていました。
