神奈川県横浜市の山田屋は、初代の山田三郎から始まりました。山田製作所の山田太郎のもとで修行し、刃物造りの名人だった田中一郎を師匠としました。包丁で有名な鍛冶屋さんで、小刀はコレクション品として製造しています。山田屋の二代目が山田五郎です。

Raised in a family of samurai, he learned under Yamada Tarou and Yamada Jirou of Yamada Manufacturing Factory. He was a blacksmith famous for forging Japanese chisel that professional carpentry uses.
The Yamadaya in Yokoyama city of Kanagawa prefecture was started by the first generation of Yamada Saburo. He trained under Yamada Tarou in Yamada Manufacturing, and was also a student of Tanaka Ichirou, who was an authority in blade making. Not only famous in making knives(cutleries), he also produced some small knives as collectibles. The second generation of the Yamadaya was Yamada-Goro.
The Yamadaya in Yokoyama city of Kanagawa prefecture was blacksmiths forging Japanese chisel for three generations since Meiji period. The third generation was Yamada Saburo. Small knives forged by the first Yamada Tarou is extremely precious and valuable.
