Table4 shows results for the Big5. Paired samples t tests showed that participants did not change significantly across the 10-year interval on any of the Big5. In terms of collates, generativity was, as expected, positively correlated with extraversion, agreeableness, openness, and neuroticism,(negatively) at ages 52 and 62. Generativity was positively and significantly correlated with conscientiousness at age 52 but not at age 62. Unexpectedly, authoritarianism was not significantly related to any of the Big 5 at ages 52 or 62, with the one exception of a significant positive relationship with neuroticism at age 62(r =.31, P <.05).

このペアT検定は、参加者はビッグ５について、10年間の間隔があいていても、さほど変化しないことを示している。照合していくと、予想されていたように世代性は52歳と62歳の時点で、外交性や人あたりの良さ、寛容さ、神経質であること(これは負の相関であるが)に関係している。良心的であることと世代性は、52歳時点では非常に強力な相関をもっているが、62歳時点ではさほどでもなくなっている。
