今日、本を読む余裕があるのはぜいたくのように思われる。というのも、生活が忙しくなるにつれて、だんだん本を読む時間が少なくなってきているからである。読書はいまや娯楽というよりも、我々が子供に伝えなければならない文化遺産の一部と考えている人も少なくない。私自身は、本なしではやって行けないたちの人間なので、読書の喜びをより多くの人間に伝えるためならどんな努力でもするつもりだ。

Today, we think that to be able to afford to read a book is some sort of luxury. That's because the busier we get in the life, the less gradually the time to read a book get. There are quite a few people who think that to read a book is not so much entertainment as a part of the cultural heritage we have to hand down to our children. I myself is the kind of person who wouldn't live without some books, so I will make all possible efforts for getting the pleasure of reading across to as many people as possible.

Nowadays, people says that reading is one of the luxurious things to do. Because the busier the life goes, the less reading time is given to us. Some people recognize reading as a part of cultural heritage we have to hand over to children. Since I am the person who can not live without reading, I am going to make any kinds of effort to deliver the joy of reading to as many people as possible.

Nowadays, having the time for reading books is thought to be a luxury. This means that since life got busier, people have less and less time to read books. A lot of people think that reading is now not as much a pleasure as a means of passing cultural heritage to our children.
