Myocarditis of various causes can result in segmental
left ventricular dysfunction and, rarely, aneurysm
formation. Although it is uncommon, small
left ventricular aneurysms can arise even in the
presence of preserved global left ventricular systolic
function, probably secondary to intense inflammation.
However, this patient’s MRI showed
disease that was confined to the apical myocardium,
rather than the more diffuse pattern of ventricular
involvement that is common in myocarditis.
The two-chamber
view from the same sequence, obtained during
systole, shows increased ballooning of the
left ventricular apical aneurysm that is markedly
abnormal as compared with the remainder of the
left ventricular myocardium .
様々な原因の心筋炎は左心室不全、時には、動脈瘤という結果を生む。
稀ではあるが、左心室の動脈瘤により心臓収縮機能の領域に激しい炎症を起こすこともある。
しかしながら、この患者のMRI像の表す疾患は広汎性の心室に関わるものではなく、一般的な心尖の心筋炎を示している。
一連の２つの心室の症例は心臓収縮の間に肥厚し膨らんだ左心室心尖の動脈瘤を示し、それは左心室動脈瘤を思わせる著しく異常なものである。
