This trumpet is truly a piece of history. The matte silver finish, and gold engraving have been polished although slightly faded, look great. This trumpet has the famous True Tone engraving on the 2nd valve casing as well as LP (low Pitch) and 10-22 (the model #). The serial number dates this horn to the 1930's, A high point in Buescher production when Gus Buescher was still involved in the production of the Buescher Band Instrument Company.

These True Tone horns were very popular in this time period for big band and jazz players, including Louie Armstrong who used a Buescher true tone to record. This Trumpet features a slide which can change the key from Bb to A. This trumpet, like most from this era, has a small shank mouthpiece receiver however a regular trumpet mouthpiece will fit in it. The low pitch engraving indicates that it plays in A=440, as some trumpet during this time were pitched higher.

This horn has been professional chemically cleaned, all the felts and corks have been replaced, and it had been cleaned and polished.
As the tech who cleaned this horn, I can say that this horn has great playability, the valves are as smooth as butter and the Bb/A slide makes it a real fun horn to play.
