日本商品化権協会は、2月4日、「日本商品化権協会賞」を発表。
2012年日本国内で活躍したキャラクター、海外で活躍した日本発キャラクターを対象に、キャラクターがもつ顧客吸引力を高めた施策を実施した団体、個人を表彰した。
受賞4作品は、事務局の収集した合計141件のプロパティと約500件の著作からノミネートされ、一次、二次審査で最終選考に残ったもの。
審査委員長として総評を語った早稲田大学名誉教授の亀井昭宏氏は、「記念事業としてスタートしたが、今後の継続を期待している」と述べた。
