Yoshiteru Watanabe (urmarvelous)

For the past 10 years, I have provided extensive translation services both publicly and privately. I work as an assistant contract administrator for a General Construction Contractor serving the U.S. Military Bases here on Okinawa, Japan, as a Full-time Job. Translation and interpretation of the Contract Specifications, Drawings, and Contract Requirements and delivering information to the local construction subcontractors are not only the daily responsibilities, but other common tasks involve translating Quality Control Plans, Safety & Health Plans, Construction Material Data documents, Daily Quality Control Reports, etc. to English, that were all originally prepared in Japanese language by Japanese Qualified Engineers. I also coordinate, lead out, and interpret mutual understanding meetings and contract execution meetings that are held between the U.S. Government and the local contractors.
In my private life, I have helped many friends and acquaintances needing help in having documents translated from both English to Japanese, and Japanese to English. I have also provided full translation for a local Okinawan company who was involved in a JICA (The Japan International Cooperation Agency) medical project in Vietnam, investigating possibilities for providing their state of the art "medical walking assistance devices" for people with serious knee joint disabilities. I translated their 20 page final project report for submission to JICA from Japanese to English (Final work in English came out to be 32 pages) in February 2014, and has been approved by JICA which is now stored in the National Library for completed records.
My translation characteristics implements and carefully considers highly specialized terms that need real subject matter expertise (SME) and real linguistic expertise to resolve.
