【国や人種を超えたコミュニケーション力と異文化理解】
18年間オーストラリアで生まれ育った経験や、大学や仕事で多くの日本人と交流したことにより、私の「国や人種を超えたコミュニケーション力や異文化理解」が深まりました。
特に、日本と海外でギャップを感じる点は、国際的な社会問題に関する意識の違いです。日本では海外のニュースが報道される機会が圧倒的に少なく、その分知識がある人が少ない印象です。
また、日本の翻訳記事でよく見かけるのは、「word for word」、すなわち直訳です。実際、英語を直訳した結果、誤った情報が記載されている日本の記事を沢山見てきました。
この経験や課題を通じ、私はローカライズの仕事に関心が湧きました。
言語や国を超えた文化意識を学んだ私だからこそ、国際的な情報をオリジナルに近い意味でローカライズし、日本と海外のつながりや相互理解の強化ができると感じたからです。
日本と海外の架け橋になるために、ローカライザーとして世界の人々の役に立つことが、私のビジョンです。

Hey guys! My name is Sho,
A bit about myself, I am a 2nd generation Japanese born and raised in Australia. After being awarded a high-school certificate in Australia, I studied to attain a Bachelor of Arts in International Liberal Studies at Waseda University, a Japanese prestigious educational institution.
After, I had been working at an IT-based company in Tokyo as a customer service representative, providing services and solutions to English speaking customers in Tokyo’s international community.
I have been a passionate bilingual translator and Localization Specialist with 2 + years of experience in Japanese to English translations as well as localized 1 on 1 Support. Linguaphile and a strong passion for literature and art from a young age. Successfully translated over a hundred documents, presentations, media related scripts, and so on.
I have strong love for black music and have been a guest to the culture as a creative dancer. I'm also a huge fan of gaming, Japanese anime culture, and aesthetics.
