1. Comagic

Founded in 2008, Comagic is an O2O service provider focused on cartoon-themed kids’ furniture. It opened more than 120 physical stores in first-tier cities like Beijing and Shanghai and settled in B2C platforms including Tmall, JD, and Vipshop. After chalking up 100 million yuan ($16.29 million) of revenue in 2012, Comagic secured 100 million yuan of Series B financing from Tiantu Capital this October. The company has received 60 million yuan of Series A financing from Tripod Capital in 2010.

The same survey also revealed that terms like ‘actuary’, ‘UI designer’ and ‘data scientist’ topped the list of careers Singaporean parents were least likely to understand.

Interestingly, while these parents might not understand what their chid might be up to, they definitely have their best interest at heart. 58 percent of Singaporean parents ranked job satisfaction as the most important factor for their children to consider when choosing a career.

On the other hand, only 29 percent rated being paid enough to lead a comfortable lifestyle as the most important factor.

Romero said this while commenting on the community’s long-term partnership with Starhub and Microsoft to drive technology adoption among women-led businesses. The alliance is part of a long-term initiative to support growth and productivity within the female business and startup ecosystem through technology focused events, training and workshops.

Marking the beginning of the partnership series, is ‘Powering Women in Business‘, a conference being held on November 26, this year, in Singapore, and organised by Connected Women, a community dedicated to driving technology adoption. Romero is also the Co-founder of Connected Women.
