Dear Sirs,

My name is Raul Arenas, from Venezuela; my native language is Spanish (LA) and I do translation works from English into Spanish.

As far as my educational background is concerned, I graduated with a BSc degree in Computer Science and Business Administration. Also, I have a Diploma degree in Translation from Universidad Metropolitana, Venezuela.

For several years, I have been working as a freelance English-Spanish translator/proofreader emphasizing on technical literature, user manuals, operating guides, e-commerce, etc.

Over the last three years, I have also been involved in many pharmaceutical translations for some of the most important laboratories in this industry; in so doing, I have faced extremely accuracy-demanding projects with not only delicate topics but also tight deadlines and robust confidentiality agreements; Most of those projects also demanded both chemical and statistical knowledge in order to succeed.

My daily output is above average: I have reached up to 3500 words/day for translation, 6000 words/day for MTPE, and 12000 words/day for revision.

At the present time, I count on a supportive platform that includes SDL TRADOS, SmartCat, and MemoQ as CAT tools.

I can be contracted either on a project basis (EUR 0.05 / word) or on an hourly basis (EUR $ 25.00); both rates are approximate values and can be adjusted depending on the work nature, volume, and/or complexity. For proofreading services, my rates are 60 % of the previously mentioned translation rate.
