API Simplicity

In general, the Tin Can API reduces areas of confusion. There’s much less room for guessing. The LRS doesn’t have to guess about anything or assume anything. Everything is just spelled out, the way it should be.

A weakness of the Tin Can API in this area is verb variation, but we think we have a good solution planned for it. Another weakness is the increased burden on the LRS to identify users that have been reported differently but who are really the same user. This is related to the “activity definitions agreement” issue, where we also have proposed solutions.

APIのシンプルさ

一般的に、Tin Can APIは不明瞭な領域を小さく抑えている。推測のための、かなり小さい余地しかない。
LRSは何かについて推測したり、想定する必要はない。全てはただ、それがあるべき姿のまま詳しく説明されている。

この領域のTin Can API の弱点は動詞の変化だが、我々はそれを計画して良い解決策を持っていると思う。
別の弱点は、異なると報告されているが実際には同一であるユーザーを識別する事による、LRSへの負担の増加である。これは、 "アクティビティ定義の合意"の問題に関連しており、我々には提案された解決法もある。

Submitting Content

In the Tin Can API, to a learner, “submit” means “I’m done, I’m ready to turn this in, I’m ready to be evaluated.”

SCORM doesn’t offer a usable concept of “submitted” or “not submitted” (and suspending doesn’t cut it.) Using SCORM, content has to suspend itself to avoid data loss, but when content has been completed and suspended, the LMS assumes that the content is ready to be evaluated. What if a learner wants to come back and review their completed content without the LMS assuming that it’s ready to be evaluated?

The Tin Can API removes all assumptions that an LMS might make in the area of completion/submission.

コンテンツ提出

Tin Can APIでは、学習者にとって"提出（submit）"とは"私はやった。私はこれを提出する準備ができて、評価される準備ができている。"を意味する。

SCORMには、"提出完了"や"送信しない"の使用可能なコンセプトがない（しかも一時停止はそれを中断しない。）
SCORMを使用すると、データの損失を避けるためにコンテンツ自体を一時停止する必要がありますが、コンテンツが完了してから、中断された場合には、LMSはコンテンツが評価される準備ができていると見なす。
もし、LMSが評価準備ができたと処理しなくても、学習者が戻って完了したコンテンツを確認したい場合はどうなるか？

Tin Can APIはLMSが完了/送信のエリアで行う可能性のあるすべての前提条件を削除できる。
