Glen Wirawan Podiono (glenwp)

Hi there everyone. My name is Glen and I am currently a 3rd Year undergraduate student studying in Waseda University, pursuing a Liberal Arts course, focusing on Foreign Relations and American Constitutional Law.

A little about myself, I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, before my family and I migrated to Singapore for my studies. I have lived in Singapore almost my whole life, completed my mandatory military training of 2 years before I decided to come to Japan for my college studies.

I have lived in Japan for almost 3 years now and have been enjoying it thoroughly. I try my best to travel as much as I can to make the most of my time here to experience the unique Japanese culture but also to find less mainstream places to hang out at.

To be honest, I do not intend to find a job in Japan but in the near future, I do hope to someday start out my own venture relating to the Japanese culture, be it a F&B business or managing a franchise. But in the meantime, I am making use of this time to gain experience in the Japanese language, and to continually brush up in my Japanese.
I really do enjoy doing translation as it not only helps to improve my skills as a translator/interpreter but also helps brush up my language.

I do have some experience teaching English part-time at the Waseda Extension Center where I take on the role as a Teacher's Assistant to help in the organization of a conversational class and speak to a group of Japanese working adults. I believe that this experience helps me to understand better how Japanese people like to portray themselves and will inevitably help in my translation jobs.
