左の白いスペースはお正月だけ作られる巨大なお賽銭箱 いったいいくらぐらい集まるのかきになるところですが公表はしてないそうです。 例年三が日の人出は明治神宮だけで約317万人 ということは日本人の正月の一人あたりの平均お賽銭額が約150円だそうだから 約317万人×150円= 4億7550万円！ 素晴らしい！

That white space on the left is the huge offertory box that's only made and used during Japanese New Years. I am quite curious how much offertory they end up collecting, but they do not really reveal the actual amount. Some 3.17 million people visit Meiji Shrine just during the first three days of the New Years, which means assuming that the average offertory a person gives away at their New Years visit is around 150yen, so 3.17 million people x 150yen = 475.5 million yen! Incredible!
