K-M-A Oil Field
Originally discovered in 1919, the K-M-A Field is one of the more prolific oil fields developed in the North Texas area, extending through southwestern Wichita County and northwestern Archer County.
In addition to many shallow sands, there are multiple oil producing zones, including: multiple Permian Sands under 1,000 feet; the Megargel, Thomas Sand, Gunsight between 1,600 and 2,000 feet, the Canyon Sands from 2,100 to 3,000 feet, the K-M- A series starting at plus or minus 3,800 feet.
