まず、DHLとの交渉に感謝します。
この商品は遠くに住む父が40年間夢見てやっと手にした望遠鏡でした。この4000ドルの高価な望遠鏡は、非常に重量が重く、年老いた父に返送を依頼することは不可能だからです。
結論としては、クレーム保証をお受けしたいと思います。
ただし、私は新品の商品を再度手配するための費用の全額を、御社とDHLが保証するか、もしくは、最低でも1000ドルは保証して欲しいと考えています。
父は、長年夢見ていた商品に大きなダメージがあることに、気を落としている。

At first, thank you for negotiating with DHL.
this item is a telescope of which my father who lives in distance has dreamed for 40 years and which he got at last. Because this expensive telescope of 4000 dollars is very heavy, so it is impossible for old father to ask to return.
As a conclusion, I think to recieve the claim warranty.
However, I want that you and DHL warrrant me total amount of expence to arrange for new item again, or , at least 1000 dollars.
My father is depressed that the item which he has dreamed for many years has a serious damage.
