まず、DHLとの交渉に感謝します。
この商品は遠くに住む父が40年間夢見てやっと手にした望遠鏡でした。この4000ドルの高価な望遠鏡は、非常に重量が重く、年老いた父に返送を依頼することは不可能だからです。
結論としては、クレーム保証をお受けしたいと思います。
ただし、私は新品の商品を再度手配するための費用の全額を、御社とDHLが保証するか、もしくは、最低でも1000ドルは保証して欲しいと考えています。
父は、長年夢見ていた商品に大きなダメージがあることに、気を落としている。

But, I would like you to guarantee all the fee for arranging a new item by you, or DHL, otherwise I would like to be paid at least $1,000 as a guarantee.
My father was discouraged with the damage on the item that he was looking forward for long period of time.
