capとbarrelについた引っかき傷はとても鋭い傷なので、カッターなどの鋭利なものでつけられたと推測されます。また、Ericからのオリジナルパッケージにはこのような鋭い傷が見受けられないことから、この傷は彼から貴社への輸送中に生じたものではないと考えます。従ってこの引っかき傷は、貴社の社員がオリジナルパッケージからペンを取り出す際に発生したものと判断できます。また、capの欠けはこの引っかき傷の線上にあることから、この欠けもペンを取り出す際に生じた可能性が高いと思われます。

Therefore we can come to conclusion that when your staff member took out the pen from the original package, it got scratches by him or her. And the partial loss is on the line of the scratch, so we presume there is strong possibility that this loss was also got when he or she took out it.
