Similar to Alibaba’s “Future Hospital” plan, as we reported earlier, the concept behind the “Drugs Safety Plan” is to contribute to the establishment of a one-stop-shop for the gamut of users’ medical needs. As an e-commerce giant, Alibaba wants more than to merely be an information provider and fake drugs detector. If we can already register for doctor consultations, pay the medicine bill and check medical reports via Alipay, the next logical move is of course to get necessary drug information, and subsequently make a purchase.

この「医薬品の安全性」プランには、以前レポートしたAlibabaの「未来の病院」プランのように、医療を必要とする全てのユーザに対し何でも揃うワンストップショップを提供したいという考えが背景にある。eコマース大手のAlibabaは、単に情報提供や偽薬を見つけるだけではなくそれ以上の事を目指しているようだ。既にAlipay経由で、診察予約や治療費の支払い、診断書の確認ができるなら、次は当然ながら必要な薬の情報を入手し、薬を購入することになる。
