結果Ａと結果Ｂを併せて検討すると、病態Ｃが疾患Ｄの原因であるとは一概には言えない。年齢層による違い、性別による違いは明らかで、50代以降の男性と60代以降の女性については、病態Ｃの関与が考えられるが、それ以外の患者層では関与は少ないと言える。
