京都市は二条城をMICE会場として開放する事業を開始する。

二条城は築城400年を超え、大政奉還の舞台となるなど歴史的・文化的な価値が高く、平成6年12月、世界遺産に認定されている。
京都市はMICE誘致を観光振興とあわせて最重要施策の一つに位置付け、全国で初となる「京都市MICE戦略」を策定している。
世界遺産・二条城のさらなる活用とＭＩＣＥ戦略の一層の推進のため、二条城を舞台に観光ＭＩＣＥの振興と文化財の保護・活用を融合させた、「世界遺産・二条城MICEプラン」事業を実施する。

The Kyoto City government launches the business for opening the Nijo Castle as the MICE venue.

The Nijo castle has become more than 400 years old since its construction and it has high historical and cultural values such as theater of Taisei Houkan (restoration of imperial rule) etc. It has been recognized as the world heritage in December 1994.
The Kyoto City government has positioned the MICE enticement as one of the most priority measures together with promoting the tourism and established the measure of “Kyoto City MICE Strategy”.
To promote further promotion of MICE strategy for utilizing the world heritage Nijo castle, they starts the business of “World Heritage Nijo Castle MICE Plan” which combines the promotion of tourism MICE and conservation of cultural properties and utilization in Nijo castle.
