I know it has something to do with power. I have always felt that anything was possible, that I could do anything I set my mind to, and that I just had to figure out how. I knew this from the time I was a toddler, and sequestered myself in my bedroom determined not to leave until I had taught myself to tie my own shoes. I can still see myself trying different knots and twists and turns until I finally GOT IT!! I had such a feeling of power and accomplishment.

Eu sei que tem algo a ver com poder. Eu sempre senti que tudo era possível, que eu poderia fazer qualquer coisa que eu definir a minha mente para, e que eu tinha que descobrir como. Eu sabia que isso a partir do momento que eu era uma criança, e eu isolado no meu quarto decidido que não iria sair até que eu mesmo tivesse amarrado os meus sapatos. Eu ainda consigo me ver tentando diferentes nós e voltas e mais voltas até que eu finalmente consegui! Tive uma sensação de poder e realização.
