Singapore’s biosciences industry presently boasts the presence of 50 global companies(including Bayer, Takeda, Millipore and Schering-Plough), which are often involved in partnershipswith some 30 local public-sector academic and research institutes. By 2015, the government is targetingUS$17bn in biosciences manufacturing output (up from US$4.56bn in 2000), with the support of its costsharingof wages and training programme.
