Thanks for the question. I understand your concern which is why I had the guitar evaluated by an expert at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. In fact George Gruhn himself, the who wrote the book "Guide to Vintage Guitars" examined it personally. It is based on that evaluation, which I am willing to send you that it is the original however cannot say that with 100 percent certainty. I am not a dealer, just a casual collector.
