洛中
木屋町や先斗町、京の台所・錦市場のある市街地エリア。
洛北
田園風景の中に神社仏閣の点在する自然の豊かなエリア。
洛南
京都の持つ歴史の豊かさを実感できる神社仏閣や街並みがあるエリア。
洛西
洛西には、金閣寺をはじめとした名刹があり、嵯峨野や嵐山には趣のある寺社が点在し、春の桜、秋の紅葉の名所としても知られている。
楽東
祇園という花街があり、伝統的な京料理の店も多く、舞妓さんを見かける風情のある町。

Kyoto, the "thousand-year capital," began in the year 794 when Emperor Kammu moved the capital of Japan to Heian-Kyo (ancient Kyoto).

Eastern Kyoto
A hospitable town which contains the red-light district Gion, and also a number of traditional Kyoto restaurants. It's not unusual to see geisha walking the streets here.
