3Qはドライブシーズンによるガソリン需要の高まりと、熱波によりトウモロコシの収穫悪化予想が発表された事で価格が上昇した為、エタノール価格は$2.91/ｶﾞﾛﾝまで上昇した。しかし、世界経済後退の懸念による投機資金の流出によりトウモロコシ価格が下落した為、エタノール価格も$2.58/ｶﾞﾛﾝまで下落した。4Q前半は旺盛なトウモロコシ需要に投機資金が流入し、トウモロコシ価格が上昇した為、エタノール価格は一時的に$2.79/ｶﾞﾛﾝまで上昇した。

However, with expected world economy slowdown, speculative money withdrew and the price of ethanol fell down to $2.58 per gallon. In the first half of 4Q, speculative money flew in for expanding demand for corn and the price of corn rose, which caused the price of ethanol rose, temporaliry, as high as $2.79 per gallon.
