細分化された日本の都市部に最近多い旗竿状の狭小な敷地に建つ住宅である。狭小な敷地に建つ住宅での一般的な解法はワンフロアの平面の中心に階段を置き、その左右に機能を振り分けていく解き方だ。たしかにその方法は最大限に敷地を活かしているように見えるが、階段をいつも眺め、自分の住宅の隅から隅まで見渡しながら暮らすのは、本当に豊かなことだろうか？
この住宅ではあえて分割することで見え隠れを作り出し、そのことにより実際以上の拡がりを得られることを目指した。

Recently in Japanese urban area there are many houses built on small divided grounds with flag shape. A general method to solve inconvenience of a little space of a small house built on a small ground is to construct a stair in the center of a one floor and distribute various functions around it. Indeed this way seems to utilize the narrow ground to the full. Is it, however, a good way of sending every day while seeing the stair together with the every part of the house all day long?
With this house we dared to divide the room and made places in and out of the shadow. In this way we aimed at getting a feeling of wider expanse than the actual space.
