彼は敵役としてたびたび登場し、世界を変えようと画策しています。
昔はGintokiやKotarouと共に戦った仲ですが、再会した時に絶縁し、
以来敵として描かれているキャラクターです。
彼の人気はすさまじく、再会と別れを描いたエピソードは、日本で劇場版になりました。
イメージカラーは紫色で、男性ですが女性のような着物を纏い、キセルを吹いているので
とてもカッコイイです！
Takasugi Shinsuke is the villan in Gintama and he used to be Gintoki's old ally.
He appears as a villan many times and he is planning to change the world.
He used to battle together with Gintoki and Kotarou in the past, but when they reunited, they broke off the friendship and since then he has become the villan.
He is very popular and the episode that showed their reunion and separation has become the theatrical version in Japan.
He is represented by purple color and even though he is a man, he wears kimono like a woman and he is really cool as he blows the pipe.

同人誌においては、かつての仲間だった銀時と桂との過去を描いた本が多いです。
ぼんやりと三人の過去は説明されているものの、しっかりと本編で描かれたことがないので、
三人の関係を創造した本が出ています。
また、同じ様に敵役として登場したKamuiとは、一度だけ一緒に戦った事があり、
その姿がとてもかっこよかったので、一緒に描いている本も目立ちます。
