mixi開発チームが生み出したアンドロイド版TestFlight「DeployGate」は開発者をUSBから解放する
mixiは9月10日、アンドロイドアプリのプライベートテスト配信プラットフォーム「DeployGate」を公開した。開発中のアンドロイドアプリをワイヤレスで開発チームに配信、ログやバグレポートなどの情報を管理、収集することが出来る。

On September 10th, mixi made Android Apps private testing distribution platform "DeplyGate" open to public. It can distribute Android App that is under development to developing team wirelessly. Also, it can administrate and gather information regarding log and bug report.
無料で利用できるゲストアカウントをはじめ、配信できるアプリの数や登録できる開発者アカウントの数によっていくつかの料金体系を用意している。
「USBをなくしてワイヤレスで一瞬の内に共有したい」ーー今回開発にあたった井上恭輔氏と藤﨑友樹氏は共に2008年のmixi新卒入社組。mixiでバックエンドやアンドロイド開発を担当する二人の経験からDeployGateは産まれたのだが、これを推し進めたのがmixiの新規事業創出プロジェクト「イノベーションセンター」。
Including the free guest accounts, there are variety of fee structures depending on the number of applications to send out or number of developer's accounts to register.
"We want to share wirelessly and instantly without USB," Mr. Kyosuke Inoue and Mr. Tomoki Fujisaki were both fresh grad and hired by mixi in 2008. DeployGate was created based on their experiences developing back-end and Android at mixi. What drove them to develop DeployGate was the mixi's new business creation project "Innovation Center."

さて、アプリ開発におけるテスト配信プラットフォームですぐに思いつくのはやはりTestFlightだろう。私もこのサービスを見た瞬間、アンドロイド版TestFlightというタイトルが浮かんだし、開発チームも比較表を作るなど、同サービスを強く意識はしているようだ。
DeployGate became the first project from this internal business creation project.
TestFlight probably is the first platform that comes up in anyone's mind as testing delivery platform for application development. The name of TestFlight also came up in mind when I first saw this service. Like from creating comparative table, I can see that the development team is also strongly aware of this service.
サービスの利用は大変シンプルだった。アカウントを作成してログインするとダッシュボードなどの画面からアプリをアップロードすることができる。テスト用アプリはQRコードなどから端末にインストールが可能になり、後はアプリを各テスターに利用してもらって発生したバグなどをオンラインでチェック。新バージョンがリリースされたらそこからまた新たなアプリをテスターに配信することができる。
It was very simple to use the Service. Once I open my account and login, I can upload application from screen like dashboard. It allows installation of testing application from QR code to devices, and it is possible to check bugs that are found by testers who used the application. If new version is released, it is possible to send new applications to testers from there.
これらの情報は全てリアルタイムにタイムライン上に表示され、開発者に共有される仕組みだ。テスト用サンプルアプリのQRコードが表示されるので、実際にどのような動きになるか試してみて欲しい。
These information would be shown on the timeline in real time, and would be shared to the developer. The QR code for the test-sample application would be displayed, so please tryout and find out how it is actually going to be like.
TestFlightと大きく違うポイントはアンドロイド向けであるということだが、根本的な違いは開発に対するフォーカスだろう。「開発者同士のコラボレーションとリアルタイム性にはこだわった。iOS、アンドロイドをはじめ、モバイルアプリは山のように作られている。開発者の環境も大きく変わり、オフィスを持たない人達がオンラインで繋がって開発を進めるスタイルがどんどん広がっている。DeployGateは開発を強く意識しているので、バグなどの情報を把握しやすいはずだ」（井上氏）。
The big difference from TestFlight is that it is for Android, and fundamental difference would be the focus on development. Mr. Inoue said "I focused on the collaboration between developers on a real-time basis. There are tons of mobile applications being created starting with iOS and Android. The environment surrounding developers has greatly changed, and there are more and more developers creating applications without office but connected and linked online. It should be easy to spot information such as bugs as DeployGate is strongly focusing on development."
私も実際にデモで使ってみたが非常に軽快で、特別なSDKを入れなくても利用ができるが、用意されているSDKを使えばログの収集、デバイスの情報取得など以外にもさらに多くの情報を取得できるようになっている。また英語版も準備されていて、マーケットは最初から国内外問わず視野に入れているそうだ。
I actually tried the demo myself and it was very light and fast. It can be used without special SDK, but it is possible to obtain more information other than just collecting log and obtaining device information if used with SDK prepared for. Also targeting worldwide market from the start, English version is all set to go.
対象となるユーザーはいわゆるソースコードを書く「開発者」に留まらない。開発チームに所属するプロデューサー、ディレクター、テスターなど、一緒にQA（Quality Assurance）に参加するであろう層がターゲットになるという。
Target users are not only so-called "developers" writing the source code. Pproducers, directors, testers in the development team who participate in the QA (Quality Assurance) would be the target demographics.
また、テスト中にあったフィードバックで最も多かったのはiOSへの対応なのだそうだ。さらにテストマーケティング的な使い方についてもアイデアはあるが「まずは開発者へのフォーカスから。その後で色々なチャレンジを考えたい」（藤崎氏）とした。

Also, there were the most feedback on the correspondence to the iOSe during the test. There is also an idea on a way to use as test marketing; however, "Focusing on the developers first, and then I would like to think of other challenges" says Mr. Fujisaki.
