Sorry for the delay of your parcel in the transit - this never sounds good.
Well, I do prefer staying calm and keep being positive every time a parcel would go on the world trip (in your case it really is, looking at the locations it has passed).
The paintings had been shipped as an airmail (about 4-week journey). But where people are involved - some human mistakes are inevitable. My guess - the parcel could had been joined to a surface lot (8 weeks).
However, all our parcels are turning-up either at their destination or where they had been sent from.
All I know up-to-date - the parcel has left Russia on the 13th July (the confirmation could be seen on the Japan Post website).

しかし、我々が出荷した荷物全ては、宛先の所か、出荷元の所に届いています。最新の状況ですが、荷物は7月13日にロシアを出ております。（この情報は、日本郵便のウェブでも確認できます。）
