My first personal experience with this woman-in the-receiver m came one day whil my mother was visiting a neigh-bor.Amusing myself with a hammer,I hit my finger.The pain was terrible,but there did not seem to be much use crying because there ws no one home to hear me.
私がこの“受話器の中の女の人”と初めて出逢ったのは、母が近所の人を訪ねていたある日のことでした。ハンマーで遊んでいて、指を打ってしまったのです。ひどく痛かったのに、家には私の泣き声を聞いてくれる人は誰もいなかったので、泣いても仕方がない気がしました。
