Calling Tech Startups: Chinaccelerator Applications Now Open!
If you guys have been following the tech startup scene in Beijing and last year’s TechCrunch Disrupt in the city, you’ll probably notice that the finalists at the competition had two Chinaccelerator graduates — Order With Me and NextGoals. And the former startup, apart from the glitz and glamour, walked away with the Disrupt cup and later brought in US$3 million in investment from Infinity Venture Partners and SOSventures.
Now, here’s your chance to be part of that winning accelerator in China, because Chinaccelerator has just started accepting applications for its 2012 intake.

Chinaccelerator is currently located in Dalian, which is unlike the usual favourites hubs in Shanghai or Beijing. There are fewer recreational activities in the northern city, which could also mean there are fewer distractions, and you can focus all your energy and attention on building that killer startup during your 90 days with Chinaccelerator.

But do not fret – Dalian is a good place for tech startups as well. In fact, it is one of the most heavily developed industrial areas in China, placing great emphasis on the development of the tech industry. The city also has a significant population of Japanese speakers and firms, on top of the multinational firms which are already located there. This would also mean there is a transfer of skills from multinational companies to the Chinese locals in Dalian, and these people are also being constantly updated with the technological trends happening in the rest of the world.

At the end of the program, startups also stand a chance to pitch to hundreds of investors at Chinaccelerator’s Demo Day, where you can meet potential investors and build relationships with many outstanding professionals in the tech scene.
