日本の「選挙活動」として知られているものの手順は次の通りだ。議員なり市長なり候補者が選挙カーに乗り、約一週間、選挙地区を回り続ける。街中で老若男女にスピーカーから呼び掛け、車の窓から絶え間なく身を乗り出し、手を振り続ける。街角ではマイクを通して「政策」を宣言し、人々の記憶に残るようにとかく名前を連呼する。少しでも手を振り返してくれる「支援者」を見つけたならば、候補者はスタッフと共に大急ぎで握手へと急ぐ。まるで「芸能人」だ。そしてこの「選挙運動」には莫大な金がかかる事で有名だ。
Well known process of election campaign in Japan are as follows.
A candidates for a councilor or mayor drives around in town. They appeal to whoever on the street through a loud speaker, lean out from the car window and constantly waves their hands.
At a street corner, they shout their policy and call own names many times to make people remember their name.
When they find a person who have shown some interest in them, a candidate dashes to the person and shake hands. They are like an entertainer indeed.
It is also well known that an election campaign in Japan costs a lot of money.
