I have been to the Parthenon many times. It is a great place to visit, the beginnings of Western culture.
Many good museums in Athens but Athens is in a bad shape due to uncontrolled illegal immigration allowed in by the corrupt government.
I live on an island (Syros), which is a very beautiful, quiet place, just 4 hours from Athens, in the Aegean Sea.
I would gladly invite you to visit Syros where you can relax with not many people around and where I could buy us all dinner at an authentic Italian restaurant !!!!!! :smiley: !!!!! Syros is built in the 19th century in NeoClassical style.

Lafcadio Hearn, of course, was half Greek (on his mother's side). His house of birth is preserved in Lefkada island and also a bronze bust in his memory.
