We’ve seen rise of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter globally. India is one of the most prominent countries on social networks, despite the fact that only 8.5 percent of the population has access to the Internet.
Facebook has 31 million Indian users making it the third largest country on Facebook after the USA and Indonesia. It has around 13 million Indian users on Twitter.

世界的ににみて、FacebookやTwitterといったソーシャルサイトがどれほど伸張しているかについては見てきたとおりだが、インドはその筆頭に挙がる国である。総人口のわずか8.5％だけがインターネットにアクセスできるという状況にもかかわらず、である。
Facebookにおいて、国別のユーザー数（3100万人）ではインドはアメリカ、インドネシアに次いで第3位である。また、Twitter利用者は1300万人程度である。
