The info I received so far has been that as long as the declared value is not over $2,000US, there may possibly be no import/customs/duty charges. Again, I haven't had charges from other guitar purchases from Japan.
I've also been informed that sometimes the customs/duties charges are at random selection.
I'm still trying to get more info to confirm. I'm still very interested in purchasing. Will be in contact soon on this.
