国際ミーティングエキスポの開会式後に行なわれた基調講演には、日本総合研究所理事長・多摩大学学長・三井物産戦略研究所会長の寺島実郎氏が登壇。「観光立国への戦略的視座」をテーマに、技術偏重から脱却した日本の次世代産業モデルとしての観光やMICEについて語った。
工業生産力を背景にした通称国家から、高度なサービス業への「新たな産業感に立つ産業創生戦略」が必要とし、その有効な手段として観光産業の発展を掲げた。統合型リゾートや医療ツーリズム、コンベンション、産業観光の強化が必要とした。
Mr.Jitsuro Terashima who is a president of Japan Institute who concurrently serves for chairman of Mitsui Global Strategic Studies Institute and President of Tama University made a keynote speech after an opening ceremony of the international meeting exposition. He talked about tourism and MICE as a model of the next generation industry in Japan where a technology has not been emphasized any more based on a theme of a "quietly looking at a tourism country strategically".
He said that what we call the "strategy of creating an industry at a new industry" from a nation with the background of industrial manufacturing power to a service industry at a high level was necessary, and he specified a development of the tourism industry as its effective means. We need to reinforce an integrated resort, medical tourism, convention and industrial tourism.
