日本海側だけでなく山形、秋田の内陸部からも眺める事の出来る山形県から秋田県にまたがるお山です。
庄内平野からの鳥海山は映画「おくりびと」のシーンに数多く見られます。
筑波山（関東地方・茨城県）
関東平野の北東縁に位置するお山です。
それほど高くない山ですが東京の高層ビルなどからでも天気の良い日は見る事が出来るでしょう。
弥彦山（甲信越地方・新潟県）
越後平野の真ん中あたりに島のように浮かび上がるのが弥彦山です。

You can find a number of scenes using the view of the Mount Chokai from the Shonai plain in the movie, “Departures”.
Mount Tsukuba (Kanto area/Ibaragi Prefecture)
The mountain is located on the north-east edge of the Kanto plain.
It is not so high but visible from the skyscrapers in Tokyo on clear days.
Mount Yahiko (Koshietsu area/Niigata Prefecture)
Mount Yahiko can be seen like an island floating in the middle of the Echigo plain.
