日本で開催することが決まっていた「北極科学サミット週間（ASSW）2015」の誘致プレゼンテーションが行なわれ、国内４都市のなかから富山の富山国際会議場で開催することが決定した。
同サミットは国際北極科学委員会により毎年開催され、北極に関する研究協力などが議論される。2015年は同委員会の設立 25 周年に当たり、分科会などのビジネス会合に加えて、北極研究の 10 年計画を議論する会議（ICARPⅢ）や国際北極研究シンポジウム（ISAR-4）などが開催される。
The invitation presentation of Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2015, which was decided to take place in Japan, was appointed, out of 4 cities, to be held in Tomiyama, in Tomiyama International Convention Hall.
The summit is held yearly by International Arctic Science Committee to discuss research related to the Arctic. In 2015, the committee celebrates its 25th anniversary and in addition to business meetings of subcommittees, a conference discussing the 10-year plan for Arctic research (ICARP III) and the International Arctic Research Symposium (ISAR-4) will be held.
