1871年には伊豆諸島は今の静岡県に属しましたが、江戸時代から交流のあった東京に属することを伊豆諸島の人々が希望したため東京府（今の東京都）所属になりました。
現在での主な理由は
・財政的に面倒を見られるのが東京都だけ。
・航路のほとんどが東京港発着のみだから。
の２点でしょうね。
Izu Islands belonged to present Shizuoka in 1871, but it is belonged to Tokyo prefecture (before its becoming the capital) because the people of Izu Islands hoped for belonging to Tokyo where there was the interchange from the Edo era.
The main reason in the present time are;
・Only Tokyo would be able to take care of them financially.
・Most of the ferry routes are departing and arriving from Tokyo Port.
