Original Text A big part of the movie's charm is just how thoroughly Jonze has imagined and constructed this future Los Angeles, from its smoggy skies to its glittering skyscrapers to its efficient mass transit system and much more. (There has already been, and there will no doubt be more, think pieces about how Caucasian this future L.A. is. There will likely be few think pieces about how the fashion for high-waisted pants in this future makes life unpleasant for the obese.) A big part of the movie's charm is just how thoroughly Jonze has imagined and constructed this future Los Angeles, from its smoggy skies to its glittering skyscrapers to its efficient mass transit system and much more. ان الجزء الاكبر من الفيلم والذي يشد المشاهد ، هو قدرة جونز المتعمقة على تخيل وبناء مستقبل مدينة لوس انجيلس ، فمن سمائها الضبابية الى ناطحات سحابها المتلالئه وصولا الى نظام النقل الهائل الذي يتمتع بالكفاءة العالية واكثر من ذلك ( لقد كان هناك سابقا ، وسيكون بدون شك اكثر من ذلك ، جزء من الافكار حول مستقبل العرق القوقازي في لوس انجيليس . سيكون هناك القليل من الافكار حول موضة البناطيل عالية الخصر لانها ستكون مزعجة لاصحاب السمنة والوزن الزائد.)

Whenever Philomena cheerily introduces Martin, she calls him "Martin Sixsmith, News at 10." He corrects her by saying he worked for the BBC, then follows with a mention that he ran the Moscow bureau and also covered Washington, D.C. If the movie has a failing, it's that the humor occasionally plays a little too on-the-nose cute, what with Philomena cooing over the bathrobes she found in her hotel room and phoning Martin to see if he needs one, or chatting up Mexican food servers about the joys of nachos.
