The band formally announced that they were writing earlier this year. No title or timeframe for record has yet been disclosed. According to the group, they're not likely to self-release the album, as they opted to do with their upcoming TAYF10 Acoustic film and record, but they're "still figuring out" the specifics.

Though this marks Taking Back Sunday's sixth album overall, it will be the third with its current lineup, making John Nolan the first co-vocalist/guitarist to appear on more than two of band's releases. The current, Tell All Your Friends-era lineup reunited in 2010, and released a self-titled album in 2011.

"The entire album came together as a result of us wanting to do something different," affirms Bradley. "We didn't want to make another weird IWABO album or whatever people were expecting. We set out to make something different and better than anything we've ever released. It's a more evolved version of the band. We explored new styles and genres as well—especially in terms of the more spacey, epic, and beautiful parts. It's got the most melodic moments of our career as well as the heaviest."

Nine Inch Nails have lost a second band member in under than a month. Just weeks after the departure of bassist Eric Avery, guitarist Adrian Belew has also announced that he will be leaving the band.

Adrian Belew's departure comes just one day after the release of the band's new single, "Came Back Haunted," along with dates for a full North American tour.

Best known for fronting King Crimson, Belew has contributed to Nine Inch Nails intermittently over the years, including on the band's classic The Downward Spiral. The guitarist was credited by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor as instrumental in his decision to resurrect the group, when the singer made the announcement back in February. At the time, Nine Inch Nails was set to consist of Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Ilan Rubin, and Reznor.

Robin Finck was tapped to replace Eric Avery after his departure. No official statement from the band or replacement for Belew has yet been announced.

NewsLoop wants to break the language barrier in Southeast Asia

NewsLoop director Alex Fenby shares on how the app is different from other news aggregator apps like Flipboard and Pulse.

While the print industry took a blow from the advent and proliferation of the world wide web, many of these publications quickly moved online to avoid being left behind. NewsLoop, a content aggregator for mobile, is a subsidiary of SingTel, a Singaporean telecomm company which has acquired several companies throughout the APAC region.

Currently, NewsLoop has a presence in Singapore, Australia and Indonesia and will continue its efforts to expand regionally in the coming months. However, there are so many news aggregator apps, like Flipboard and Pulse, for instance. How would an app like NewsLoop differentiate itself from its competitors? Alex noted that it is their focus on local content and Asian users that will set them apart from their rivals. “In each country that we roll out NewsLoop, we aggregate the best of local content, from mainstream media to long tail bloggers. We then combine that with global media brands like the BBC or ESPN.

In Singapore, they have seen about 300 reviews with an average 4-star rating as they consistently get listed in the Top Five of the iTunes News category.

Bitfash: Shopping for Fashion Brands with Bitcoin

Yeah, there has been so many stories on Bitcoin since mid-April when it lost about half of the value over night after hitting a record high, thanks to a speculation wave which resulted in a DDoS attack and ‘panic sale’. Also there emerged all kinds of related services like exchanges, and businesses like this food ordering service that accept Bitcoin.

4月中旬、BitcoinがDDoS攻撃とパニック・セールの結果起こった、投資の波による記録的な高値とその後の暴落以来、この仮想通貨の話題には事欠かなかった。また、両替や、食料品サービスなどBitcoinを使用できる関連サービスも現れた。

Riding the wave, Bitfash, a service for Bitcoin holders to shop for fashion brands, was launched in the past April. Though the company behind it, Woods and Kelkar Pty Ltd, and the two founders are Australian, Chris Woods, one of the founders, is living in Beijing and now working on a Chinese version of the website and has been looking at the opportunities in China.

Three brands, Zara, Forever 21 and Mr. Porter, are available now and more will be added over time. Delivery and after-sales service, however, are taken care of directly by brands, not Bitfash. It charges consumers a small amount of fee. The exchange rate between USD and Bitcoin is consistent with that on MtGox, currently the largest Bitcoin exchange and reflecting the prevailing exchange rate.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of Bitfash’s customers are male and tech-savvy. But there are also high street consumers. Website visitors by location: 35% from Asia/Oceania(China: 8%), 32% from USA, and 32% from Europe. Most of users are between ages 18-34. Currently the majority of its customers are from the USA and Australia.

Woods believes Bitcoin is the most technologically advanced digital currency and they’d accept other virtual currencies if they were equally or even more advanced. As both founders used to work in investment banking sector, they are aware of Bicoin risks, saying they’d manage their working capital balances of Bitcoins and USD ‘to maintain the working capital needed to sustain an efficient business operation’.

Given the Bitcoin’s volatility we saw in the past months, you cannot help guessing that any business only accepting Bitcoin must be a speculator. Woods claims, “We try not to be speculators because it distracts us away from the point of Bitfash”. He pointed out that the value became quite stable in the month after the incident in April.

It’s very likely that we’ll see speculation drives price up and down in the near future, but Woods believes “over the next few years as more and more people start using Bitcoin the price will inevitably increase, but we think it will be a steady increase”.

Bitcoin actually has become a hot topic in China, at least among media. Woods noticed even CCTV, China’s state TV station, broadcast two features, with positive or neutral tone, on Bitcoin in the past month. Some Taobao retailers started accepting it and a few Chinese are mining Bitcoins.
