Indonesian (Native) English German

My first translation task dates back to my 3rd semester of study in Swiss German University (Indonesia). Working as an intern in a Jakarta-based beer company, I was assigned to translate reports, manuals and Powerpoint presentations from English to Indonesian language apart from my daily routine of observing the brewing process of beer.

In my 6th semester of study, a German flour company near Frankfurt city took me in as an intern in the Quality Control department. Similarly to my 3rd semester, translation jobs were also given on a daily to weekly basis. What's different was that I had to do it mostly from English to German language, which I found a bit challenging. With practice, however, it benefit me in terms of gaining new vocabulary which I could use in communicating with the locals. There were times when I had to do it conversely, which was more comfortable to work on.
