Josh Kaufman, author of The Personal MBA, suggests asking the following three questions as you evaluate the market for each of your ideas:

How attractive is the market for your idea?
Are there other markets that may be more promising?
Can you alter the idea to appeal to a more attractive market?

I’d add a few more things to this list, based on my experiences:

Does one of your ideas have weaker competitors than the others?
Is there a first mover advantage to acting on one idea right away and holding off on the others?
Could you begin with one idea and eventually expand your concept to include others as you grow?

Note: I’m assuming you’ve determined that there’s a market for and an interest in each of the ideas you’re choosing between by this point in the process. Given that a lack of product-market fit is one of the biggest reasons businesses fail (a survey by CoFounder magazine found that more than 20 percent of startup entrepreneurs cite it as the cause of their business’s demise), you’ll want to get that right before you ever worry about market potential.

Step 3 – Establish your ability to act on each idea

The last thing Roman and I did was consider carefully how effectively we’d be able to act on each of the ideas we were proposing. This involved asking a number of different questions:

・What funding is available? Larger ideas, and ideas that require larger teams, will require more funding. How much working capital do you have on hand, and how much time are you willing to put into fundraising versus actually working on your company?

These kinds of questions aren’t easy to answer — and you may find that your answers evolve as you pursue one idea over another — but give them their due diligence ahead of time. The more research you do upfront, the less likely you are to invest countless amounts of time, money, and energy into an idea that won’t ultimately succeed.

Xiaomi featured a comparison between market leading 4K TVs at their launch event today, calling out Sony, Sharp and Samsung in a side-by-side show down. Interestingly, they have also focussed on redesigning multiple hardware features since their last part TV offering, including the modification of their power plug which is now smaller than a matchbox.

The sound system in the Mi TV 2s is supported by Dolby and there is 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage on the Android-based system. The latest TV launched in partnership with some of China’s most popular content creators and licensors including Youku, PPTV and BestTV.

“The days of ‘Weibo and WeChat in China, Facebook and Twitter everywhere else are long gone if they ever really existed at all,” Lamplight COO Fergus Clarke told Technode. “Indonesia is a good example for this. There’s also a social network element built into the service, allowing you to browse other users’ submissions, ‘like’ them, and add comments. It feels a bit like Medium’s app, down to swiping either left or right to explore more. There’s no way to follow individuals at the moment. It already has a strong rival in the form of Storehouse.

Mao says Pixotale has users (he declined to disclose how many exactly) in more than 30 countries right now – but not many of those people are in his native China. The app supports Chinese – as well as social sharing to Weibo and WeChat – but the app lacks any Chinese servers, making it very slow in the country.

The duo are contemplating whether they should launch the app in China, but the country’s system of web censorship and tight media regulations make it a big leap. Mao says visual storytelling is “very powerful” on the web, and so censors won’t like the social network once people start posting images of a more political or sensitive nature. “We’re Chinese, I’m Chinese, so we’re always looking at the China market,” he says – but there’s no plan in place yet. “A China strategy is very difficult,” he adds.

Marc Andreessen, when speaking to the “How to Start a Startup” class at Stanford last fall said, “There are about 4,000 VC-fundable startups each year, of which about 200 get funding from a top tier VC.” I do not dispute his numbers. What I would suggest is that, as fintech innovation revolutionizes connectivity and collaboration, knowledge becomes easier and cheaper to acquire, and new business practices are created, we should be able to double this number of VC-fundable companies in less than 10 years.

Thank you so much for the quick response, and I have just called my local post office about the package. They told me that they had no idea what happened to the package, and their record showed the same that the package passed through Chicago last Monday. Post office asked me to wait few more days and contact you or them again to figure out whether if anything happens to the package. It normally doesn't take this long after the item arrives in U.S, and there's no inclement weather around the area.
