私は当該スピード違反となったタイミングの数時間前、深夜着の便でメルボルンに到着しました。初めてのオーストラリアです。
私の妻と子供は少し早くオーストラリアに来ていて、メルボルンの友人の家に滞在していました。
子供がアレルギーの症状が出ていると妻から連絡があり、日本から持参した薬を早く届けたいと思っていました。
制限速度は意識して運転していましたが、深夜で車が少なかったことや、日本では15km未満の速度超過で検挙されることはまずないこと等から、少し意識が足りていませんでした。

I arrived in Melbourne at midnight, just a few hours before over speeding. This is my first time in Australia.
My wife and child were arriving a bit earlier and stayed at my friend’s home in Melbourne.
My wife told me my child has a symptom of allergy and I hoped to deliver medicines that I take as soon as I can.
Of course I was aware of driving carefully for observing the speed limit.
However it was never enough because there was less traffic at midnight or I thought I would never be caught by police for about over speeding less than 15km/h.
