購入頂いたESX-1は古いタイプの機種になります。
本体側の電源プラグが特殊な形状になって、付属しているアダプター以外では利用できません。
同じ電源プラグを持った９Vアダプターなら利用できるとは思いますが、
私はこのアダプター以外は利用したことがありません。
この純正アダプターを利用するのであれば、必ず変圧器が必要になります。
変圧器なしで利用した場合は故障する可能性がありますのでご注意下さい。
これ以上詳しいことが私もわからないですが、参考にして頂ければと思います。

The power plug of the main body has a special shape, so only the adapter attached is available for it.
I think some other 9V adapter whose shape is identical with it would be available, but I myself have only used this genuine adapter.
As long as you use this genuine adapter, you definitely need a transformer.
Please note that the unit might become out of order if you use it without a transformer.
