stockは不可算名詞なので、冠詞(the)は付かないと思います。

おっしゃる通りですね。in stockとかout of stock とか。でも、a stock of ~やthe stock of~のような使い方もしますので、reserve stockですと語呂が悪いのと何のstockなのかがわからない気がしました。get in a stock of new toys
「新しい玩具(がんぐ)を仕入れる」のような用例もあります。
