Children raised in poverty do not have adequate access to education and employment opportunities. As a result, they tend to stay poor all their lives. Their own children grow up in poverty and repeat the cycle in the next generation. On the other hand, higher levels of education and income are closely related to smaller family szes. People who have more education get beeter jobs and have more money.

貧困のうちに育った子供たちは、十分な教育の機会が与えられず、そのために適切な雇用の機会まで失っている。結果として、一生涯を貧困のまま過ごすことになる。その子供たちも貧困のうちに成長するので、次世代でも同じサイクルが繰り返されることになる。一方、高水準の教育と高収入は小規模世帯と密接に結びついている。より良い教育を受けられた者がより良い職を得、高収入を得るのである。
