レビューと評価を有難うございました。いえ、onigiriさんの解釈が正しいかもしれません。他の言語から翻訳されたテキストのようで代名詞が多用されているので、前後の文脈をたどって判断しながら訳していますが、迷うことが多いです。
どうも古い英語のようなので出典を探してみました。http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Roman/Texts/Appian/Civil_Wars/5*.html を開いてみてください。どうやらこれはこの「33」から出典されたもの見たいです。100年前の本です。古い歴史ものはこんなに難しいんですねー。
